Audio FAQ

Most orders are completed within 3-5 business days; film transfers may take up to one month. Unusually large orders and those that occur near Christmas may take longer. We’ll be able to give you an estimate at the time you drop off your tapes or reels. If you have a time-critical request, please let us know. We can usually meet any reasonable deadline.

Absolutely maybe! As you can imagine, there are some extreme cases of damage that are simply beyond repair. Unlike your car insurance company who will “total” your perfectly repairable car, we understand that you cannot depreciate memories, so if there is any chance we can save something, we will. We’ll give you an honest assessment when you bring in your tape or reel. We charge a flat rate for repair of $24.99 each.

For media transfers, we request that you pay only after your order has been completed. We require payment in advance for all duplication orders. We accept PayPal or any major Credit Card. Personal checks are not accepted.

Sure, no problem. For your security and ours, however; It must be a new usb or external drive in original packaging.

Yes, you’ll get all of your original audio sources and either CDs or a USB drive. For CD transfers, each record, tape or reel will be transferred to a single disc when possible. For digital files, you’ll receive an appropriately-sized USB drive to hold all of your media.

We’ll sit down with you and key your order into our system exactly to your specifications and give you an estimated invoice. All your media is then carefully labeled with your invoice number, and placed together and into the queue.

Before we begin the transfer, we’ll inspect your media. We’ll call you if we expect your actual invoice to be higher than the estimate we originally gave you. This can occur if your media needs to be repaired or has significantly more program material than we estimated. If there is any blank media in your order, we’ll deduct those estimated transfer costs. We never charge for blank tapes.

Once your order has been completed, we’ll call, text, or email you to let you know it’s ready. You may pay your final invoice online via PayPal, or pay when you pick up your order. PayPal or all major credit cards are accepted. We do not accept personal checks.

We offer two levels of service on our Audio Transfers so the answer depends on which you choose. Our Archival Level is our most economical and will not improve or change the audio in any way. Our Professional Level is slightly more, but includes improvements such as noise-reduction, volume maximization, digital equalization, as well as editing and track separation. Our improvement processes are designed to be highly effective yet very affordable. We do not do the type of specialized tweaking you can find in high-end audio-only mastering houses.
